Vikrant Sharma, Founder and Editor of the Global Telescope


The force behind the blog, Vikrant Sharma is the Founder-Editor of The Global Telescope. A student of law at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, he is deeply passionate about history, political science, public international law, international relations, and diplomacy. He is also pursuing a Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership.

Ashwin Vardarajan is a student of law, pursuing BA LLB (Hons.) from Symbiosis Law School Pune. He has a niche for constitutional law, public policy, and international law.


Nikhilesh Koundaniya


Nikhilesh Koundinya is a law student at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He takes a keen interest in research, litigation and world politics. Over the course of his college life, he has authored several papers and articles on various legal and socio-political topics. His hobbies include participating in Model United Nations competitions and parliamentary debates, as well as working out at the gym.



Sampurna Mukerjee




Sampurna Mukherjee is someone who embodies the quote "perfection is something that is attained when you do ordinary things extraordinarily". She strives to attain perfection in everything that she does with sheer hard work, and by being focused on her goal. Her strong vocabulary and writing skills help her share her views eloquently, but she also loves to read, learn and paint to keep herself moving forward.




Siddhanth Sharma

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Siddhanth is learning Law at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He has been inclined towards learning about World and Indian History, International Politics, Constitutional Law, and Human Rights. Apart from academic interests, Siddhanth also enjoys listening to soft rock, jazz, Indian and Western Classical music, reading fiction, and watching ‘The Office’. He believes that one’s journey is a continuous process of seeking and learning, the day we stop learning, is the day we stop evolving.


Siddharth Soni

Siddharth is a law student of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and is highly skilled in mooting. He has been a part of various international as well as national moot court competitions. Apart from this, he has also attended various training programs and summer schools. He is interested in subjects like Intellectual Property Rights and Cyber Laws. He carries with him a passion for constantly increasing his knowledge. In addition, Siddharth has also pursued various diploma programs and certificate courses.


Vasundhara Mehta




Having a strong inclination towards the International politico-legal arena, Vasundhara Mehta is a student of Law. Besides being passionate about Criminal Law, Human Rights and Diplomacy, she's always up for a discussion on Psychology, poetry, music, cricket or fashion.

Relevance of Balance of Power in the 21st Century By Dr. Aarzoo Sharma   Balance of Power is one of the oldest foundational concepts of international relations. We can find the idea in Thucydides’ ‘Peloponnesian War’, Hobbes’ ‘Leviathon’ and Kautilya’s ‘Arthshastra’. Even modern realists like EH Carr, Morgenthau and Kenneth Waltz have focused on this concept. Its status in international politics can be equated with Newton’s law of gravity in physics. The basic logic behind this realist concept is straightforward. In the Westphalian world order which is anarchic due to absence of any “world government”, each state has to rely on self help to avoid being conquered, coerced or otherwise when facing a powerful adversary.
